Manufacturing High Performance Bonded Cord Strapping
How to make a tie-down for less than $2.00 using:
1 - 1" Ratchet Buckle
1 - 10' strip of Ty-Cord® 105
Using Ty-Cord 105 -- Pull out and cut off the needed amount of Ty-Cord from the mobile cart.
The full break strength of Ty-Cord 105 is 4,000 lbs, so for this lighter weight tie-down, we want a total tie-down break strength of 900 lbs. Work load would be 1/3 of break strength. Split the Ty-Cord 105 in half.
Note: The full width of Ty-Cord can be used for a stronger tie-down and a wider footprint.
Place one end through the back end of the 1" ratchet buckle.
Split the Ty-Cord in half, about 5" - 6" into the strap.
Wrap the split ends around the strap and tie 3 knots with the split ends.
The unique outer coating will lock together and not release.
Then pull the knot tight, leaving 2" ends to tie.
Wrap the strap around the lading.
Thread the end of the strap through the ratchet buckle and torque ratchet until the strap is taught with the lading.
The anti-skid outer coating of the strap will hold the lading.
Side Hardware can be used Reusable tie-downs for trees and shrubs
Unitize 500' and reunitize after each shift
When the Ty-Cord strap becomes too worn for use, pull the knots away from the buckle and replace with new Ty-Cord strapping.
